Custom, handmade Portage Lake enamel bolo tie or shoestring necklace. Portage Lake is located in Onekama - Manistee County, Michigan.
This exquisite, hand fabricated 18K gold and fine silver enamel bolo tie was created using goldsmith techniques including Champleve’ and *Basse-taille enamel techniques. Several layers of transparent vitreous enamel were applied allowing light to flow through the color and reflect from the engraved relief below. This creates an artistic effect of a windy day where white caps dance on the water’s surface and leaves shimmer on the forest-covered hills.
